03/03/2022, in response to an FoIA we made, the DVLA advised Kent police recorded 1,099 car thefts in 2022 (data here)
06/03/2022, the Kent Messenger reported Kent police recorded 622 car thefts in 2022:

The above does not appear to be all Kent areas (Dover, for example, is not noted separately) however the 477 car difference is substantial and we have written to the Chief Constable of Kent police seeking an explanation and asked the constabulary to provide the Kent Messanger data.
